Must-See Kecak Dance In Uluwatu

Regarded as one of the most important temples in Bali, Uluwatu temple is perched majestically on the edge of a steep cliff that towers above the legendary surf breaks on the Bukit Peninsula. As the sun slowly sinks over the horizon, lighting the pristine vistas in twilight, the whole family will enjoy the energetic and colorful Kecak Fire dance. Performed on the rhythmic ‘chak chak chak’ chants of a choir of 50 men clad in outlandish costumes, ‘Kecak’ finds its roots in an old Balinese ritual called the sanghyang – a trance dance.

The performance plays out as the sun goes down, and the culmination involves a giant fire display that is integral to the plot. It ends on quite a fiery note—quite literally!
