First released in 1969 as a manga (comic book), the Japanese cartoon Doraemon is about the eponymous, ear-less robo-cat that befriends and aids a schoolboy with the magical gadgets he brings from the future. In the cartoon, Doraemon is born in 3012, so this year is technically 100 years before his birth. To celebrate, the LCX branch of Japanese-Danish café Bo-Lo’GNE has opened a special Doraemon pop-up café from August 14 to September 16 at Harbour City.
Expect a Doraemon hamburger, tiramisu and even specially-moulded chocolates, served on cartoon-adorned plates. It’s sure to entertain kids and adults!
Retro manga nostalgia for adults, fun for kids, and food to boot!
Cartoon fans or Nipponophiles, young or old.
Limited edition Doraemon plates will be on sale, and the whole of Harbour City has been decked out with awesome life-sized Doraemon installations.
