BEST HIKING TRAILS IN CLEARWATER BAY, HONG KONG: Family Friendly Hiking

For babies on back and little feet, the smooth hike across from the entrance at Sheung Sze Wan is always a winner. You can make it quick by walking up (20-25 minutes) the main hill and heading back down or keep going to the left, right, or up to the tallest point in the area. You can also take it all the way to Po Toi O (a perfect lunch choice). Other hikes enjoyed by families include the Clearwater Bay Park to Horse Stables and temple and beach hike.

Clearwater Bay Country Park To Horse Stables, Start at Clearwater Bay Park (parking available), head up from parking lot or do the reverse and start at the stables and head to the Country Park. *1.5 hour hike with climbs for families

Tree Walk, located inside the park and a very easy and gorgeous walk for all ages, bring a kite! Note, it is not stroller-friendly. *Toddler and family short hike

BEST RESTAURANTS IN CLEARWATER BAY, HONG KONG:

Pick your own seafood at Po Toi O and dine by the water. in Clearwater Bay.  It's a real treat!  For an adventure, ring up the lovely folks at Yau Lei Seafood to send a speedboat your way where you can zoom across to High Island for a fishy feast.  St. Bart's is the area's go-to restaurant for wine evenings, group dinners, and brunching city-style.  It offers indoor and outdoor seating and yummy food for all (including a kids menu). There are other options around Hang Hau Village including pizza, Thai, and more.  Eat up!

THINGS TO DO IN CLEARWATER BAY:

For an afternoon of kite flying, seaside walks, and family BBQs, head to the Clearwater Bay Country Park.  During summer's low tide, head to the Sheung Sze Wan bay which transforms into a giant baby pool with shallow water for the smallest to explore.  For beach play, a visit to Clearwater Bay Beach 2 will knock your socks off.  Round off any activity with a visit to Po Toi O for fresh fish and more.

The Velodrome offers outdoor play, a skatepark, a gorgeous playground, and loads of park space for picnics. The Tseung Kwan O area is also famous for biking. Bring your own wheels or rent directly at the Velodrome. For a splashing good time, head to the Tseung Kwan O swimming pool (although looks more like a water park!).  A visit to one of HK's largest playgrounds is also a must!

*Shopping:  There is not a lot of shopping in the area but hey - not why people live here.  Gap, H&M, and more shops are located in nearby Po Lam.  For everything else, you can head to East Point City and Popcorn Mall in Tseung Kwan O.

*Medical:  For emergencies, go to Tseung Kwan O hospital.  For doctors, dentists, physios, and more in Clearwater Bay - book up at Clearwater Bay's OTC&P.

*Pampering:  For manis/pedis + Princess manis/pedis, book up at Nail House (+852 2719 8718).  For facials and massages, head to Sense Of Touch in Tseung Kwan O (valet parking available), and for quick massages).
