We previously highlighted The Great Madras, a chic and picturesque boutique hotel, but its lobby café restaurant deserves a mention of its own.
Visit the old-school building and you’ll be first greeted by The Great Mischief by the entrance, unmissable due to the al fresco setting and neon light signage that screams to be featured on your Instagram. If you’re not already impressed with the interior, then the food served will surely win you and the kids over. With over 20 halal-certified tapas options available, you’ll be spoilt for choice with dishes that each bring a burst of Spanish-influenced flavor to your taste buds.
Kick things off with appetizers like the Coca Bread (SG$5), a classic combination of brioche bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dips, or have a Bikini Party (SG$9) – a turkey bacon and mozzarella cheese sandwich platter that invokes both familiarity and fascination thanks to a dash of truffle paste hidden within. Meatier fare includes the Al Ajillo (garlic sauce) plates, that come in either prawn (SG$11) or fried chicken (SG$10) options. Kids will also enjoy tucking in to the sweet desserts, like chocolate-dipped churros ($8 for two sticks) and Gores De Pa De Platan (SG$10), homemade banana bread waffles with ice cream.
The laidback vibes complements a nice day for simply chilling out with your loved ones.
