Built in the 1930’s this theme park focuses on Chinese folklore’s 10 Courts of Hell. It also has other scenes from Chinese legend such as Journey to the West and Madame White Snake. Located on a hill in Pasir Panjang, Haw Par Villa is named after the Burma-born Aw brothers, who created the medical ointment Tiger Balm.
Referred to by many as weird, wacky, scary, strange and interesting, it’s a must see for anyone looking for something different. Haw Par Villa is next to the Haw Par Villa MRT station, and is open daily from 9am to 7pm. Entry is free.
