Singapore’s hospitality scene just got a major upgrade—with an MRT twist. Meet Train Pod @ one-north, the country’s first boutique co-living hotel set entirely in a decommissioned MRT train carriage. Parked right at JTC’s LaunchPad, this unique stay is perfect for urban explorers, train buffs, and innovation lovers alike.
Dreamed up by Tiny Pod, the brains behind the shipping container hotel concept, Train Pod is more than a novelty—it’s a fully functional eight-room setup that fuses nostalgia, smart tech, and sustainable design. Think: preserved train interiors, real-life video footage from its service days, and compact rooms that don’t skimp on comfort. Guests check in via smart locks by Igloohome, enjoy AI-powered safety features from Ailytics, and get concierge-style support from Vouch’s GenAI chatbots.
As part of LaunchPad’s innovation testbed, Train Pod brings together startups, tech, and hospitality in one sleek space. And yes, there’s even a 24/7 vending café with original MRT seats and bike racks for that true commuter-meets-creative vibe.
Officially launched by Senior Minister of State Low Yen Ling, Train Pod is set to open for bookings in the second half of 2025. You can follow the journey at www.tinypod.com/train-pod.
Train Pod features 8 hotel ensuite rooms in a single train car. Each room comes with Murphy single bunk beds accommodating 2 guests. The rooms are fully air-conditioned and come equipped with WiFi and Netflix.
Other amenities offered onsite include:
● Food and drinks vending machines
● Washing machine & dryer (coin operated)
● Outdoor kitchen for light cooking
● Fridge/Freezer

It’s a brilliant blend of nostalgia, innovation, and sustainable design—Singapore’s old MRT gets a fresh, fun second life.
Urban explorers, train lovers, digital nomads, and anyone craving a quirky, Insta-worthy stay with smart amenities.
Guests can lounge on real MRT seats in a cool outdoor café area, complete with bike racks and vending treats.
